The following agreement is to confirm the application and confirmation that you understand and agree to the following expectations, benefits, and guidelines to participate in the DRC Note Taker Program.
You will be expected to deliver notes to the DRC after each class session that you have registered to be a note taker for.. The following expectations will be met.
- Notes should be legible and delivered in an accessible format
- Note taker will communicate with the DRC if any class sessions do not have material to be noted. For example; exam days, group work sessions, class cancellations, etc.
- Note taker will notify the DRC if they are absent from class for any class sessions they are a note taker for. If absent, reasonable attempt to acquire notes from a classmate is expected
- Notes should be as complete as possible. This means capturing information relevant to the course content in a way that another person can interpret.
Note takers should expect the following benefits for participating in this program:
- Signed volunteer hours for the class sessions notes were delivered for, upon request.
- Recommendation letters for job application/grad school, upon request.
- Incentive Benefits paid for by DRC
- Note taking training to improve students’ own note taking skills.
The procedure for providing notes to the DRC are as follows:
- Notes, written or drawn, should be scanned or a picture should be taken and emailed to sshelp@suu.edu.
- Notes, if taken digitally using a note taking application or cloud platform, should have the link or document shared with sshelp@suu.edu for monitoring.
- You are welcome to stop by the DRC in ST206G to scan your notes.
- If you are absent from class or notes where not taken due to cancellation, exams/quizzes, group work, please send a message to the DRC, with this information this will be sufficient for notes submission.
By signing this document, students agree to the requirements listed above and to provide a copy of notes for the course listed above. Students understand that not providing notes regularly, as stated above, could disqualify them for all or some of the benefits listed above.
